welcome to "granger raceway park "
A little history about Modified Lawn Tractor Racing. In 1984, we opened this park just, for the fun of it. The park is built around the race track For about six years the track was a dirt and clay surface. The racers were getting faster, and the track was really getting bad. We then, resurfaced the track with a black top type surface.
We have built a little larger high banked race track, and a much better racing surface of asphalt. Of course, racing modified lawn tractors is not the only reason for our park. With all the facilities we have to offer, our park is in use a lot of the summer months.
As a member of the M.L.T.R. Association, you can use the park for different activities if they wish. For family get togethers, parties, reunions or just that special occasion. That's one of the benefits of belonging to our association. So join up today.
Another benefit for our members is the chance to go to a big NASCAR race in August, which in itself is one of our biggest events of the season. We also are involved in parades and car shows to promote our club and Remember, you don't have to be a driver to join the M.L.T.R. Association. You can be a social member if you wish. Again, we would like to thank all of our friends for supporting us with all your donations of food and raffle items. And a special thanks to the ladies for the excellent way you supply the food.

Thank you for your support or showing interest in our sport, we have been enjoying this for close to 20 years. The track is a high bank asphalt track that is about 140 feet long, we like to call it the fastest short track around, not to mention its the only track like this in our area. The rules and regulations are for the eyes of our members only. However, they are simple common sense . You are however, more than welcome to join our association, there is a donation of $35.00 per year (rules and regulations free), $5.00 per race day. Safety is our number one concern and that should be kept in mind with any type of racing. Some groups want to take a standard mower and go really fast and race each other on a dirt track, that would be fine but the machine that you are driving should be able to with stand the punishment that you are going to give it. For entrance, if your going 40-50 mph are you able to stop if a driver falls off their machine, someone could get really hurt, that person might be you. Something to think about, most of us need to go to work on Monday. With that in mind, we take a lawn tractor (wheel horse seems to work best) then modify it from there, change the spindles, add weight to the front end, install side rails, install rear bumpers. There are a number of things we do to make our racing machines safe and competive and that is what makes this fun, you loose the fun and or dont put on a good show for the fans, your going to loose drivers. You may have more questions about our sport that I didnt answer in this letter, please feel free to e-mail us for more information.
